Laila Elgersma | Doctor's assistant

After 10 years of work experience in another branch, I followed my heart and started the training programme to become a doctor's assistant in 2014. During my studies, I gained practical experience when doing an internship at Loudon Medical Centre.

I developed myself as a qualified and all-round doctor's assistant within a large, fun, and enthusiastic team. I have now been working at Loudon Medical Centre since 2015.

As a doctor's assistant, we take care of a large variety of work activities, ranging from planning appointments by phone, giving advice, and helping patients during the assistant consultation hours. Being able to help patients in so many different ways is what makes our job as doctor's assistants so much fun and interesting!
