General Information GDPR

On 25 May 2018, the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into effect. This means that, from that date, the entire European Union (EU) needs to comply with the same privacy laws and regulations. The previous Personal Data Protection Act (Wbp) is no longer effective.

Your personal data and your privacy at our GP practice

General

The GDPR is the new law that protects your privacy and personal data. This law describes the obligations of an organisation who obtains the data and the rights of the person whose data it concerns. In addition to this general law, there are specific regulations with regard to the privacy in the healthcare sector. These regulations are described in, amongst other things, the Medical Treatment Contracts Act (WGBO).  This privacy regulation is intended to inform you about your rights and our obligations that are applicable under the GDPR and the WGBO.
